I was going to buy a TDI a few years ago, and the salesman talked me out of it as it is so damn efficient, that it takes a long time in the winter to warm up, which would compound with the WVO problem. This is really a compliment on VW's TDI efficiency. (I'd question the need to convert such an efficient vehicle in the first place - my 7.3 Powerstroke at 14mpg will be getting it for certain, but I'd leave a TDI alone, unles it was just for the good feeling of doing the right thing)
