Justin Abdelkader Goal - 5/31/09

Justin Abdelkader scored his second career playoff goal during game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals on May 31, 2009. His goal gave the Wings a 3-1 lead over the Penguins, which they would hold on to to earn a 2-0 series lead.

Abdelkader is the first player in NHL history to score goals in Games 1 and 2 of the Stanley Cup finals after not previously scoring an NHL goal, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. He's also the first rookie to score in consecutive games in the finals since Minnesota's Dino Ciccarelli in 1981.

@RedWingsFan2010 At least we Penguins fans DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPS. WOW YOU SEEM REAL INTELLIGENT WHEN YOU TYPE LIKE THIS. Red Wings were the last of the Original Six teams to win the Cup. They had a 40+ year hiatus between Cups as well. If you became a fan before 2010, you'd know this.
