Short vid of me driving around the busy town of Dolgellau in my Fiat Panda, with a boot mounted camera! See the famous Cader Idris mountain range overlooking Dolgellau towards the end of the vid during the bridge crossing.

Dolgellau in North Wales is a small market town with around 3500 inhabitants. It attracts thousands of tourist's from all over the world each year, being only 10 minutes from the beautiful beach and seaside town of Barmouth, and just as close to the famous Coed-y-Brenin mountain biking centre with over 9000 acres of wild forests and thrilling bike trails.

Dolgellau is a very old town with a lot of history and historic buildings, most of which are made from stone. Dolgellau is surrounded by stunning countryside, mountains and rivers and plenty of wildlife within which has inspired many people from artists and musicians, right down to the holidaymakers seduced by the local areas of outstanding natural beauty.

  • beautiful town. thanks for the video

  • Welcome

  • Too bad I didn't get to visit Wales after seeing this! Got to love that old world charm with that country scenery. However, I remember now why we walked or rode bicycles everywhere in England. We aren't used to those twisty narrow roads here in Yankland! lol!

  • Almost every town/village is like this in Wales, all similar yet entirely different! Only 3500 people live here. No 2 buildings are the same, every one has hundreds of old stories dating back hundreds, if not thousands of year! These roads aren't that narrow compared to some! I've been down ones where you have to fold both mirrors in! lol

  • Thanks for posting this....it brought back happy memories. From holidaying in a cottage overlooking the river and an old printing works, to kipping in a car on the car park near the fire station. A sleepy afternoon watching club cricket as the cars took your route out of town over the bridge. The narrow streets speak of a time before the car. My snapshot of "Dolly"...wet Thursday afternoon and homes churning out the sweet smell of fires burning Welsh coal! Lovely.

  • Lived in Dolgellau, worked in the Royal Ship hotel there. Lovely place, downside nothing much to do there and no drinking on Sunday.

  • my grandfather & mother come from here a place called plasgwyn on cader rd my aunt sold it a while ago lots of happy memories

  • If that was a thursday youd notice all the idiots outside the court building having a smoke!
