Have you also been looking for a little bit of instrumental D&B in your life, nu-jazz by your side and is dub all you need? The answer to this -and some more- is Salto. Conquering since 2008 Moscow's musical scene, Salto performs enticing live electro sounds which alternately make you groove off the hook or send you off into deep meditation.
Eva Chervonenko's charming voice takes you travelling along Slavic folk, over the hills of raggamuffin and ethnic jazz into funky flirts with the psychedlic trip-hop and d'n'b sounds her musicians produce.
For some of the compositions, 'soundtrack' is a better word, prooving language powerless compared to live music, which is being created here and now. They never play twice the same: improvisation a la lettre in a surprisingly coherent way.
The EP «Sprouts in Concrete» was released in November 2010 and consists of five tracks which can be listened to at theSalto.ru. The group is currently working at recording a full CD.
