@markandrach Firstly the first part of this 45 min documentary in whole and the first speaker only comprise part of the ancient astronaut theory. Secondly, there is no single cohesive explaination from experts in contemporary academics circles that agree largely on one answer or another when it comes to the pyramids of Egypt, Ollantaytambo or especially Puma Punku. Most theories of modern times do not factor in ancient geological mathematical religious paradigm, only the ancient astronaut theory
The think is, how those ancient knowledge and technology is gone for a long time before it's rediscovered. Most technology nowadays are not developed from ancient technology, ancient society have made some achievement that modern scientist never know the knowledge about it. However, if the ancient society is smarter than you think it doesn't mean that the alien teach them. More make sense if we discuss whose the heir of those ancient knowledge, do they affect the modern science achievement?
I find it very hard to believe that aliens came down to earth to teach us simple stonework. Archaeologists have found evidence that Egyptian work forces had all the techniques they needed to build the pyramids. And those ancient batteries have been tested, and DO NOT EVEN COME CLOSE to producing an electrical charge sufficient to run any modern day electrical appliance (even light bulbs). The hieroglyphs that look like light bulbs are actually depicting a flower's FRAGRANCE. (look closely)
@ancestoralmemory No, we don't. I'm an archaeologist and we haven't found alien bones, nor any concrete evidence aliens helped us in any way. The textual evidence you refer to calls them gods, and we can't really prove they were actually aliens. I'm not ruling it out either, all I'm saying is we haven't REALLY proven anything like that yet.
I don't know how anybody can rule this out, we have archaeological, DNA and textual evidence for past alien involvement in human affairs, the issue is only a matter of context and interpretation. Besides, this is more logical and scientific than any theistic belief!!
