A Christian is somebody who has never REALLY read the bible.

I think the Clergy Project is very important and I'm elated that the FFRF, Dawkins, Dennett and others have put it together. I'm sure that what Teresa has went through has been trying and I wish her the best. Welcome!

There may have been a spiritual leader named Jesus who passed along great inspirational insights, but so has Gandhi, Laozi, Buddha, and Muhammad. There has not been or ever will be any evidence that Jesus was the son of god, or that there was original sin, or that an invisible entity can hear your thoughts; this type of thinking involves an act of faith, which by its very nature is a discredit to the human species.

I am an atheist and i disagree. I used to be a christian and have read the bible over 20 times. Most of the atheists that I know of that are former christians have left christianity because they fled the faith before they found the correct answer to their biblical related problems. We call these people "quitters".

Imagine how this interview would be on FOX news.. lol they would be screaming over the top of her and cutting her off. Glad she was able to present her story fully on CNN.

I suspect there may be a little bit of an irony happening. I think that the ministers who have the courage to come out as Atheist end up being the most compassionate ministers. A ministry dedicated to serving real People rather than an imaginary god, I believe, will do a lot of good in this world.

At the age of FUCKING SIX???? She 'felt the calling'???? WHAT??

You mean at the age of six she was fully brainwashed by her parents...

    That was the only calling.

How fucking people do that shit to their kids I'll never know....

Says the book which also says that eating shellfish is an abomination and if you pin the the ear of your slave to your doorpost, he'll be yours forever. Great moral compass!

Except all the atheists who defend out country, save lives in hospitals, feed the poor, etc. Norman Borlaug, for instance, was in no way religious, but through his research, saved over a billion lives. Prayer to god didn't save them. Religious works didn't save them. Missionaries didn't save them. A heathen using science saved them.

30+ million atheists in America and growing! Keep up the good work!

Now if christians who attend church actually found out they were listening to an atheist. I will guarantee there are other clergy members who are atheist and don't want to commit 'social suicide'
