Hopefully everyone will read this and it will get rid of all speculation. I know the bridge operator and his family personally. He was sick and on multiple medications which severely altered his state of alertness. He was called in to work that day on forced overtime (work or you're fired). Some responsability does fall on the operator however a very large portion falls on the Seaway due to making him work in unfit conditions... The labor code now protects employees from unsafe work

I saw the bridge was going to down in spite of passing ship.

That is why you shouldn't drink and drive a bridge.

I love how the bridge goes down just in time for it to get hit but goes up right after
Its the fault of the drawbridge operator. It would atke a mile to stop the tonnage of this ship. The ship has the right away and there was a slip by the drawbridge operator. Sadly the company who owned the ship went bancrupt and out of business. No laughing matter here, the man on the bridge had to lie down on the floor to keep from getting crushed.
