Totally the wrong way to surface fish for carp. Use a controller, about 1 metre of free line to hook and round small floating dog biscuits. If the line sinks, use line grease or similar to make it float on surface from hook to controller. Loads of freebies, wait and watch carp slurp and suck in bait. Then at last moment, cast in quietly, wait for it!! Strike swiftly but gently. Play and tire, play and tire. Weigh and release. :)
@lukkbox Why so aggressive? I happen to be very proficient in surface fishing for carp and have caught many fish using my methods. Personally I don't think the line on the surface is an issue but more the presentation of the bait in the water and in my experience, most fish spook off when they feel the hook sticking out as they mouth the bait NOT the line on the water. If you use a clear, light line that won't sink, it's not an issue. PS notice I didn't call u a 'cunt' or 'prick' once
This is a nice little surface fishing device, allows the fish to swim around the mixer/bread without feeling any line making it look like a freebie. the orange ball is an attracter as by nature carp will invistigate bright objects ect. Also try the Bolt Bubble by fox, also looks like a cracking surface systerm.
That thing looks fuckin ridiculous. What edge does it give over using a controller or just plain free-lining? All I can see is that it will keep the line between float and bait off the surface. But the whole system looks stupid. And what happens to that curved arm when u do get a fish? Shit thing looks like it will snap. I'll stick to my current methods I think.
