Yes! But the feeling is not the same... It's like having RAP music sung by rich private school brats singing about life on the streets... It's not the matter of not going if you don't have money, the thing is: If you don't have the guts to go to a REAL funk party don't go to one at all!

"Para mim é chocante", afirma a russa Anna Klimanova, 22 anos, ao sair da sessão de "Favela on blast", filme exibido nesta quinta-feira (6) no Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil-NY. Ela se refere às mulheres personagens do documentário de Leandro HBL e Wesley Pentz, as MCs que sobem aos palcos dos bailes funk para mostrar danças sensuais e cantar letras escrachadas sobre sexo.

Favelas ain't as bad as the scaremongers say, or as safe as the crazy white dudes who buy illegal things there. But why even go to a funk party in a favela when they have them at Lapa at a big outdoor club with tons of security. Clubs like Melt and Baronetti play funk too. The music is the appeal, if you feel out of place by being surrounded by foreigners who don't have money then you shouldn't go. You can get that funk music anywhere in Rio these days.

It depends on the guy. Some do, some don't. Some guys like the lighter complexion girls or even just white one, more specifically WHITE AMERICAN GIRLS...but hey...what ever right? You're just there to have FUN right? Not to get guys, right?

Not really, you just have to be with a local, just to cover your butt...LOL..seriously though, just be with a group of locals and you'll be O.K. Oh, and don't dress slutty. That way the guys aren't on you like flies....LOL. Anything else you need to know, just hit me up.
