The income tax rate on the wealthy is 28%. The income disparity that must exist for the difference in taxes paid by the top quintile -- and especially the top one per cent -- and the lower quintiles is outrageous. Yes, they can afford it. But that's not the point. What happens when $250,000 p/year is no longer the "rich" and the government deems anyone making over $50,000 needs to pay higher taxes. What's your opinion when "you" are deemed rich? $50,000 is rich compared to what I make. Maybe YOU should pay more taxes.
