Quite a rare material.
Helen Keller, the American author, political activist and lecturer, whom I don't have to explain much about, and her instructor and lifelong companion, Anne Sullivan, appears in a Vitaphone newsreel from 1930. In this footage Sullivan shows the way how Helen Keller learned to talk. The final line of this footage, "I Am Not DUMB now!" is somewhat touching.
I know this footage have been shown on lots of more recent materials, but I was little bit surprised that nobody uploaded this before on YT except some clips, so I upload the full-length version.

i dont get it!!! how could they teach her to write...if she never saw what a certain thing was...what is it used for...how does it sound...deaf/mute/blind...she couldnt understand the world??? i understand deaf ppl see things and realize what are they for...or blind-hear and learn...but how could she touch e.g. "letter L and realize it is L" and create verb LET and know what does it mean??
This is the video I have been looking for. What a true REMARKABLE person she was. If only I had been born to see how amazing she was. Annie Sullivan also, If you haven't showed Helen's father that you have taught her how to understand, Helen wouldn't have been the person that she was.
I can not believe half of the hating comments on this page, who are any of you to judge someone you haven't met? Helen Keller was an amazing and inspiring woman. Great Video! =)
exactly. Sick unevolved meat eaters picking on highly intelligent and productive people because they can't comprehend intelligence and decency. I let em know about it,but, it's no use. whatever lol
