Now that Cuttie is gone from the show, I could actually envision Atkison being brought in for a season or two to play the new hospital director who is every bit as arrogant and obnoxious as House-they could even have some back and forths together like in the Blackadder days.

I remember Hugh Laurie doing a short TV series that I think was on the BBC in the early 00's before House. My guess is that the main reason he went to the states is because his career opportunities in the UK went south after that and he had no work. I know the same thing happened to Robert Carlyle who went to get a role in Stargate Universe, which I think is a great show, but has been bloody cancelled....

@szqsk8 technically a rotten borough was one which had no reason to be an electoral district- by then lots of rural boroughs were derelict and had almost nobody living in them as they had not been updated with population change. There's a famous example of one old borough which had no inhabitants at all as by then it was completely underwater, but which was still represented by an 'elected' mp. Since this was clearly insane, they were called rotten boroughs and redrawn. History lesson over!

@Archzenom That was Hugh Laurie's bread and butter - half of a comedy team Laurie and Frye...and comic musician..the drama thing came at the tail end of his career
