Paid for by Rupert For Senate.

Scott A. Rupert, independent candidate for Ohio's U.S. Senate, urges Buckeyes to support the Ohio Health Care Amendment, Issue 3.

Issue 3 is a measure calling for exempting residents of Ohio from national health care mandates which would stop any state law from forcing persons, employers or health care providers from participating in a health care system. The measure is being sponsored by The Ohio Project.

  • The purpose for auto insurance is to protect the other guy from my error. I am not opposed to paying for auto insurance, as a qualification for my PRIVILEGE of operating an automobile. We agree that there is a definite need to reform HEALTH CARE, and reduce costs. But no American should be forced to purchase ANY product, merely because they draw breath. Thanks for the input.

  • At 1:51 you say "our concern should be for the sovereignty of the state."

I disagree. Our concern should be the health and welfare of the states citizens without whom there is no state to speak of, sovereign or otherwise.

  • @printo69 On my website, ScottRupert. com, under Issues and Ideas, there is a file called Health Care. It offers an unconventional solution to the high cost of health care. One that requires no new law, and maintains individual sovereignty. I tried to post it as a link, but was unable. Don't copy and paste the website. I had to add a space after my name to get it to post at all.

  • @CyclistConnection You are completely ignoring the issue. The issue is that health care insurance costs too much money and thats why there are uninsured. Simply forcing people to buy health care insurance does nothing to solve the problem. Reform should be to lower costs and increase access. The recent health care reform does nothing to lower costs, which is the fundamental problem with our health care system. Lower costs and more people will be able to access it.

  • The reason it has gotten out of control is politicians who introduce legislation to appease their campaign supporters. Why do you think insurance companies and healthcare corps backed Obamacare??

  • This issue is also about protecting long term health care costs from rising even more. The reason it has gotten out of hand is because of the people who DON'T have health care. Those of us who DO end up paying even more to cover their cost. It's no different than auto insurance. Is it right for a driver to wreck into your car and YOU have to pay for the damage? It protects YOU!! Vote NO on issue 3!!
