Video#632 Five Boro Bike Tour 2011 Pt 1

I used my Sony HD camcorder with a 5 hour battery. I knew i had to move fast before the battery runs out. I videotaped the entire five boro bike tour - I finished the five boro in 4 hours 20 mins.

When i upload the videos to my computer, i noticed that some of the videos has a black screen at times with a little round white circle.The problem is when the cam is shaking a lot or when it hits a bump, the lens cover closes and then it opens up again. I broke the lens cover off so it won't open or close again.

Sorry about the rattling noise. I hate the rattling noise too - it's the air pump that's rattling - I have it strapped down with velrco straps. I can't do anything about the rattling noise, so the only thing i can say is turn the volume down a little - I broke off the lens cover so it won't open or close again.

OMG you were able to finish it for 4 hrs. With us we were able to finish it at 4 PM

awwwwwww no fixed gear bikes....hey dude get a better cam or something to reduce the rattle.....

@highrisk293 I have a very good cam a SONY HDR-CX350V Full HD 32GB Flash Memory Camcorder which cost me $800. It has a double mic which can pick up more sound. I don't like the rattling noise either but I'm going to find out what's causing it. I can't do anything about the rattling noise now so the only thing i can say is turn down the volume.

My friend register late so she got the VIP package. It was good for her, did not suffer much. For me, my bf, we were in the same bucket as you and thousant other riders. BIKE NY did a bad job in working with DOT. I did not see any obvous construction that prevent them from remove the cones. Whoever incharge the BQE project need to be fired. They get pay form our tax payer money but they don't care. Bike NY also did not care. I did send complaim to them.

I HAD THE SAME BAD EXPERIENCE AS 1retskroy's. THEY MADE US BY PASS ASTORIA PARK REST STOP IN QUEENS. THEN WHEN WE GOT TO BROOKLYN WE HAD TO WAIT ON BQE FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS !!!. BY HE TIME WE GOT TO THE FESTIVAL EVERYHTING WERE CLOSED. NO ENTERTAINMENT... JUST A COUPLE LEFTOVER FOOD VENDORS WITH LONG LINE. I DID SEND E-MAIL COMPLAIN TO BNY. WHOEVER HAD THE BAD EXPERIENCE SHOULD DO THE SAME. WE DON'T WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE ANIMAL AND WE DID PAY FOR THE RIDE..

Standing for two hours on the Gowanus Expressway is not acceptable! The organizers are only interested in making money. I have brought my family from Chicago for this ride for five years but NEVER AGAIN! By the time we got to the last SAG and the Festival, they were shut down.

NEVER AGAIN!!! Did the 5 boro tour 2 years in a row including this year. Thought it had to be better organized than last year. We spent 3.5 hours walking with our bikes and 3 hours actually riding them. This is the most poorly organized bike ride I've ever participated in. It's not TD's fault either. UNLESS YOU ARE A VIP REGISTERED RIDER, YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME! IF YOU'RE THINKING OF PARTICIPATING, TALK TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE ACTUALLY DONE THE RIDE IN RECENT YEARS BEFORE YOU SIGN UP.
