could you use another transistor instead of the relay together with the 555 or is the spark contact what youre after?

I started to put a transistor there but I could not get it to work right off so I just went with the 555 by itself. since I am getting about 50 - 160V spikes I did not want to kill my transistors as the switch.

LOL is that the receptionist typing your dictation at the begining. Man you have soooo much stuff going on its sooo coool.

LOL I thought it sounded like a telegraph office myself. I would used my solid state one, but it is out of commission.
