While the provisionals are in government and the IMC has stated that they have embraced peaceful politics, it is interesting to see that loyalism has descended into complete criminality and drug dealing (the IMC stated that criminality and drug dealing is 'endemic' in the UDA). Since their ceasefires, loyalists have killed more than 20 of their own in feuds spanning nearly a decade. Maume, in his book, stated that loyalists are more prone to criminality and feuding and less disciplined.

The UVF for example: They started killing and bombing their way around the North years before PIRA were formed. They killed an impressive 20 IRA men in their 28 year campaign - the rest were predominantly catholics that were drinking in a bar or walking home. They also killed twice the amount of loyalist paramilitaries than they did IRA men. They also produced the most brutal gang of serial killers this island has ever seen: The Shankill Butchers - for which there is no Nationalist equivalent

The most misleading video on YouTube. It was the UVF who started murdering in 66' and who planted the first bombs in the late 60s. It was loyalism that opposed political concessions designed to grant civil rights to catholics. And lets not forget that it was Catholics who were the victims of the most brutal and overtly sectarian regime in Europe (if not the world) for nearly half a decade. From 1969-71 the IRA were primarily engaged in defensive operations against sectarian loyalist gangs.

@Volgan16666 That statement is wildly misleading. Firstly, the IRA did not select their targets solely based on religion - there are many British soldiers who would have been catholic. The Sutton Inndex states that hundreds of Republicans victims were the result of collateral damage - the unintended victims of bomb blasts etc. That will explain high numbers of catholic victims. Loyalists however selected their targets purely based on religion. Loyalists killed more loyalists than IRA men.

@pubkrocknroll I agree. United under GB. Or else pay us our billions back.

@vividexstance No I would call it a small step to redressing the imbalance caused by republician propaganda.
NO SURRENDER!!!!! NEVER!!!! Ulster belongs to the United Kingdom and will never be part of the catholic empire!!!!

@ganjaking187 You are like many misinformed and ignorant observers from across the pond who think they understand Northern Irelands very complex history based on a one sided view of Ulster. Firstly not all Loyalists or Unionists are Royalists. More importantly I am Born and bred here, I am British and proud and have as much right to be here and will remain here as anyone. You live in Canada or is it America since its all the one country you should get out and give it back to naive indians.
