This video is little less than five minutes long, but the length doesn't matter because with the 2003 Honda Accord it never breaks that "sitting on the side of the road pose." If you go to http://www.safercar.gov and check for "Defects & Recalls" for the 2003 Accord and read the complaints from owners you will soon see why Hondas make the best living photographs.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has over 1100 complaints on file about the 2003 Honda Accord. Of the 1136 complaints (as of July 31, 2010) referred to this agency, 377 fall into the "power train: automatic transmission category."

Information from the NHTSA web-site reveals that in the 2003 Honda Accord transmission failure occurs quickly and many times at highway speeds. The complaints from NHTSA are mostly similar to each other in that the vast majority of the failures happen suddenly at higher speeds and the car's occupant(s) are often unsafely jolted forward.

In April of 2004, Honda issued a recall on the automatic transmissions of Honda Accords, Odysseys, Pilots and Acura 3.2CL and 3.2TL models. The very same potential failures cited in the 2004 recall have become frequent for owners of these vehicles in the years subsequent to the recall and the resulting "transmission lockup" that "could result in a crash" has become a reality for many.

Honda was supposed to fix the problem when it issued the 2004 recall, however, it appears the company tried to do the cheapest thing for its bottom line in an attempt to have these vehicles fail after the warranty had expired. By not fixing the problem they are putting lives at risk and are keeping the 2003 Honda Accord perpetually idle.

7/31/2010 Honda Owner Quote Of The Day From http://www.safercar.gov: WE BELIEVE THAT OUR 2003 ACCORD IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE / TRANSPORT PASSENGERS AS OF THIS DAY OF 07/26 /2010 AND REQUEST THAT A COMPLETE STUDY WHICH CONSIST OF ALL THE AFFECTED VEHICLES BE REPAIRED BY HO MO CO.AT THEIR EXPENSE FOR PARTS ,LABOR, FOR ALL PARTIES IN QUESTION AND ALL PERSONS THAT HAVE FILED CLAIM WITH LOCAL DEALERSHIPS AND ALSO WITH ALL PERSONS SO MENTIONED ABOVE THAT HAVE CONTACTED HO MO CO.
