Why Can't We Eat It?

silica gel--in my eyes, one of the most pointless things on the planet. it's in my purse, but I can't eat it and I apparently must throw it away immediately. if this is so, why is it in my new purse in the first place?

@GavinJLang Now now, let's be logical. What's the likelihood that I'm actually unable to look up what it is? And what's the likelihood that I was just a bored teenager messing around with a new laptop?

On a bitchier note, I think it's unfortunate that you're able to comment on random, unpopular YouTube videos, but are unable to relieve yourself of the stick that's been shoved up your ass. Good luck with the stick, and I pray you find something better to do than watch my videos.

It's made out of some toxic stuff, that's why were not allowed to eat it just like the stuff you use to clean the toilet:P If we eat it we become sick. Anyway,I'm not completely sure but I believe it's used to clean your bag:) Or jacket(There in that alot 2) But I dnno for sure! I always throw them away:) But alot of ppl also keep it in there and then wash it, don't see the use of it tbh:) Hope this helps alil!

It absorbs moisture to keep mold from growing! Used a lot in electronics & dry food storage. It won't hurt you, just don't eat it!

silica gel in the food because is make it fresh.silica gel in the pruse because..... umm idk but i think is keep away the bugs and stuff.if am wrong,dont hates me

What is Silica Gel: Basically it's a desiccant, a hygroscopic substance that takes the water out of the air around it.

Why throw it away: I wouldn't throw it away :P Use it to keep moisture from getting into different things.

Why not to eat silica gel: Yeah... it absorbs water, your body can't digest it, and you'd probably feel VERY uncomfortable as long as it remained in your digestive system.
