@Maasdam1993 I don't see what's so offending about that comment. Do you really think that Juliana is one of our greatest Queens? Her reign was filled with scandals (Greet Hofmans, Lockheed) and she made the most insane proposals to members of the cabinet (spending taxpayers money on cream pies for imprisoned murderers on her birthday) . She tried to act as a common person which is impossible for a royal. The Dutch common man, who hates class and style, loved her, naturally.

@coolview66 Her clumsiness was the result of her wish to act as a common person, which is, of course, not the natural thing to do for a royal. During the 20th century the lower middle class breeded more prodigiously than any other class and became dominant in Dutch society. The Dutch royal family knew all too wel that it couldn't offend the envious lower middle class too much and opted for a more common lifestyle. Our current Crown Prince recently said that he loves to eat microwave dinners.

Although I don't no much about Queen Juliana I respect & admire her. Of course she was diffrent from our monarch Queen Elizabeth II who I respect & admire. God bless Queen Juliana,long live Quee3n Elizabeth II & Queen Beatrix I,long live the Royal houses of Oranje Nassau & Windsor.
