Elephant attack Mysore 8 June 2011.
Elephants reach Mysore from forest 35 km away.
Attack cows, people, ransack buildings, terrorize the city.
Incredible scenes.
Update on 10-June-2011:
these 2 elephants ran amok coz of 2 reasons. 1. Depletion of forest cover. 2. Their body temperature was way higher than normal. Since then 4 bigger, trained elephants from Mysore Palace were called in to herd these 2 rogue elephants. Once sedated, these 2 elephants were cooled with copious amount of water. The 2 elephants were caught and then transferred by the Forest Department to Bandipur Reserve Forest. They were not put down.

@Tchudilowsky when man moves in on the habitat of the wild animals, they can retaliate with brute force - be it anywhere in the world. By preserving wildlife, we are actually preserving ourselves.
