im confused... so he was playing over his pre-recorded solo, so it wasnt actually live, just playing along for video to the pre-recorded recording?

Yes he was and I filmed it and that is what makes it even more impressive. It took Brad only a few takes but he nailed it again like he did on the original recording with steve Smith.

What makes this bass solo more incredable is that Brad is playing over his prerecorded solo that i was pumping in the sound system of the studio as I filmed. It only took him a few takes but he nailed it as you can see. The drum kit is actually my Gretsch kit. We were not trying to fool anyone but at the time there was no way to schedule Brad and Steve again so we just did it this way.
