Does the original photo quality reduce while transferring onto the iPad?
I want to use the iPad as a storage device and get the original photo quality when transfer it to my computer.

Hi. Does this not create a new folder on the iPad then? It just imports all of them on the default folder on the iPad?

I don't understand the people who compare an iPad to a netbook. Netbooks are for cheapass-people who can't afford a laptop or people who just don't want a laptop but are happy with a slow,small version of it. iPad is not a computer it's a Tablet. It's a totally different product. Besides that: Netbooks have software installed that isn't 100% designed for a netbook. iPad has software that is 100% designed for iPad. In my opinion an iPad is way better than a netbook but again:different market.
