@romeodawg Because it contains caffeine; because it contains a neurotoxin theobromine, etc. Very small quanities might be beneficial, but just don't go abusing it like David Wolfe does. He got really fat on it. lol.

did nt explain enough why chocolate is bad for you.

all i can say from experience with cacao is that is garbage n takes your health down, best stimulant is still coffee, tea has flourine in it, nobody needs more flouride. chocolate ruins my skin which is flawless untill i eat it.

I know that cacao is totally amazing, I see and feel far more benifits then not. I don't eat it all the time, I go in spurts... Love it!!! so does my body. By the way each on of us is completely different, with different nutrient needs.
Never make blanket statements about anything. ;) We are all unique.

I have no addiction to caffeine, I don't even drink green tea. I am certainly not addicted to cocoa, since I haven't had it in a few months, and don't ever crave chocolate. I would never use sugar with my raw cocoa powder, only stevia... and I'm eating mostly raw food. Seriously? You're telling me this stuff isn't healthy? SAD FACE.

Catherine8here, stop feeding your addiction, Brian Clement is a leading food scientist, I'm positive he knows what he's talking about.

@cfb693 Yes, feeling cravings, moody and unwell is symptoms of a syndrome called PMT. PMT is not normal, I do not get it when I stay of dairy and fatty red meats (grain fed). We drug ourselves with all foods, because food is our medicine. Celery is a herb, carrots are a progesterone like chocolate is. Cocoa has 20g caffine per 100g although the theothrobine is a cardiac stimulant, and it can be too much in excess.

It is the "feeling" he is talking about. You are feeling the drug, not your own feelings.
Caco is a strong diuretic as well. IS that good for the kidneys? Maybe, if you need a diuretic.
-
Catherine, you are assuming that feeling "different" during PMT is bad. His point is that we drug ourselves with this, just like you are doing.
This doesn't really answer the why - it just says he thinks it's bad because it's stimulating. Lots of raw food and herbs and spices are stimulating... Does this mean cacao and agave are toxic or should be avoided? I love watermelon because it's sweet - it satisfies my sugar cravings and gives me immediate energy. That doesn't mean I should avoid watermelon...

@romeodawg Yep, how can he be sure chocolate is WRONG? Who is he? I bet he dies at a similar age to average. Chocolate has many good properties in it, 90% cocoa chocolate can help hormonally, its reccomended in the orgasmic diet, because it lifts progesterone.
