I remember I was 14. I watched the game on monegasque-italian based TV Telemontecarlo. No luck at all for Canaries: english team were banned from euro competitions a couple of months later, due to the Heysel tragedy.

I have the official attendance of 101,000 in one of my SAFC annuals and i was there and our end was packed (standing) so there must have been forged tickets.

@TheTmny876able Nah 90,000 mate

@kenwyne67 Football was better back then, when players could actually contact without getting sent off! I hate the way football is going in the modern game. I like the skills and talent but hate the theatrics and over protection. They get paid ridiculous amounts and that has made them think they should be treated like royalty. Bring back the old days I say.

@ColkyMadness well they fkn shoulda been.
i'll not lose sleep, this was in the 80'a after all. thank you, and goodnight
-
@kenwyne67 They weren't the rules at the time.
-
@ColkyMadness rules is rules, though
-
@kenwyne67 Because the game wasn't ridiculous back then.

Norwich receive 64,000 pounds prize money for winning the cup. Ah, those were the days when football had some sense of perspective.
