Oh cool I can have an immediate impact on people :D I can make them happy and help out and Im having an impact then when I die I'll know that I've done something good...oh wait I won't cause I'll be dead...so why should I care about other people at all if what your saying is true and their isn't a god or a "higher meaning" then there is no meaning that I can give to life that makes it significant...why should I care about helping anyone except myself while I live...who cares about my "legacy"...

@AmericaWakeUp1: who cares about your legacy? Hopefully, you do! It's true that once you are dead you won't care then. But the objective here isn't to find purpose in death - it is to find purpose in life. Working to better the world while you still live is a noble and enriching purpose. And, if there is an afterlife and a just and reasonable god, you won't be any worse off from having done your best. Only if god is an unreasonable tyrant would he punish you for having been a good person.

Your hypothetical proposition that if God exists he might in fact reward those who employ reason over those who merely accept the prevailing religion of their culture is such a great point, and one that I have always wanted to make myself, but you beat me to it. It is always refreshing to find others who can eloquently articulate my worldview. Thanks for posting!

Your `logic` is invalidated by many Biblical points. Being righteous is not a living death sentence it is a test of faith in which we ignore Satan`s deception and set our hearts on Heaven and not of the things of Earth because it`s easy to worship things of flesh and self and easy to be decieved by false science, I know better than most because I`ve been on both extremes of the spectrum.

Sorry, I got bored watching your video. I guess the point is, religion seems to be selling illusions/delusions to people. The problem is though, most people in this world are "lost". Perhaps they aren't motivated, maybe they weren't taught to think for themselves. Someone should go and interview Bill Gates and ask him what's his purpose without God. I think ultimately, our ancestors have been through a lot to get us here. I think the least we can do is to find out the answer (if there is one).
