Les Luthiers (pronounced / lely'tje /) is an Argentine group that uses music humor as an essential element of their performances, in which he uses informal instruments created from everyday materials. In this feature, hence its name, which in French means "makers of musical instruments."
It consists of five members (originally there were seven), all professional musicians, and began his career in the second half of the 1960s in Buenos Aires.
He has been nominated for the Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts 2011, "the highest international award given to the cultural, scientific and humanitarian throughout the Hispanic world." 1 The Arts Award is awarded to the person, group of persons or institution whose work in architecture, film, dance, sculpture, music, painting and other art constitutes a significant contribution to the cultural heritage of humanity.

Les Luthiers (pronunciado /lely'tje/) es un grupo argentino de humor que utiliza la música como un elemento fundamental de sus actuaciones, en las que utiliza instrumentos informales creados a partir de materiales de la vida cotidiana. De esta característica, proviene su nombre, que en francés significa «creadores de instrumentos musicales».
Está compuesto por cinco miembros (originalmente, eran siete), todos ellos músicos profesionales, y comenzó su trayectoria en la segunda mitad de la década de 1960 en la ciudad de Buenos Aires.
Se le ha postulado al Premio Príncipe de Asturias de las Artes 2011, "el máximo galardón internacional que se concede a las actividades culturales, ciéntificas y humanitarias en todo el ámbito hispano."1 El galardón de las Artes se concede a la persona, grupo de personas o institución cuya labor en la arquitectura, cinematografía, danza, escultura, música, pintura y demás expresiones artísticas constituya una aportación relevante al patrimonio cultural de la humanidad.
