??? well if your talking about the army in black then it was a coffen/boat... i think its so the dead can cross the river of the dead safely... i think anyways... hope it was of some help

Basically, it's the ultimate decoy. Balsa and the Shaman set it up so that it would appear the wolf killed the Prince. This way, she and the Prince could go back to the city without anyone suspecting they were there, because everyone would think they were both dead.

But what happened? One minute they're crossing Aogiri, the next they're back in the city, Tanda is there even though they separated, the episode is called "Death on Aogiri" and I don't know who died, and I just watched epiosde 7 and NOTHING IS EXPLAINED :( I'm really enjoying this anime, but I do wish it was easier to follow.
