I realy love these old trailbikes. I have a 92 RD04 Africa Twin myself an even though the newer ones like the big KTMs, Yamahas, BMWs and even Hondas have state of the art electronics and engeniering aswell as good looks these old ones is the boss. They just are. Just yesterday a taxidrive forgot to drive when the light turned green and all the other cars started driving, admiring my bike giving me thumbs up:)
If I didn´t have my baby I most likely would go for an old beamer :)

thanks mate :) i love the look of this bike, how much wud you pay for a decent 2nd hand one?

@feiz01 Yes I still have the bike although it looks very different at the moment. In fact it is the same bike in my video entitled "Die Spiesiale Aflewering"
The fairing housing has been damaged in a fall but the tank and the rest of the fairing parts are all living on a shelf in my workshop right now.
Second hand price is anyone's guess as so few ever seem to come up for sale and every model is unique regarding the parts that were fitted.

what would be better for touring with the occasional dirt road for exploring< one of these or a gs1150 r ?

@feiz01 these bikes will of course be a lot cooler that the 1150, but mostly you will find that repairs can be made a lot easier and without expensive diagnostic tools found mostly only in the BMW workshops.
For fuel economy, speed and ultimate touring comfort on a big highway the 1150 will kick but, but then I hate being on tarmac but love exploring all the little trails and the tougher they are the better.
MichielKaapstad 's Youtube page has many videos of the same bike with Marlboro theme.

how.. looking in to buying a bmw myself. how tall are you.

I am about 1.79. The guy in the video is also about my hight.
It is the same bike painted Marlboro red in the dune riding video where I am the rider.
This model is very tall and my toes are barely touching the ground.
