Quick demonstration of a Microtech Troodon D/E (double-edged) Tactical knife. It is double-action, which means it springs out AND in. A very safe design, because the spring is actually only under tension when you operate the switch. No danger of this going off in your pocket.

Marvelously designed and built. Tight blade lockup. Legal to own and open carry in Florida (popular open carry knife method is to clip it in your pocket with the clip showing on the outside). Concealed carry is questionable and probably requires a permit. An "ordinary pocket knife" this is not.

  • Hey do you need some kind of permit to carry a knife? I live in NJ and MA

  • It depends on your state laws. In Florida you don't need a permit to carry an ordinary pocket knife concealed. This might not be ordinary, but you can just make sure the clip shows on the outside of your pocket, and you're find. No permit necessary in Florida. But these types of knives are illegal altogether in almost every state... I'd be willing to bet NJ and MA don't allow them at all.

  • Got it at a gun show in the Tampa, FL area. They're not legal everywhere, but they are in Florida.

  • clearly the grooves on either side of the blade are nessary for a tooth pick and a tweezer on the other side..and the holes are for playing a tune while sitting around the camp fire like pan pipes..man i need to get me one..

  • There were a hundred opportunities for me to get a microtech knife, yet I turned them all down until I was actually at a AUTHORIZED dealer. There are plenty of copy cats.

  • make sure you are buying a real microtech if you are buying one. if doesn't cost $400 it's probably a fake

  • you have some money :s

  • thanks for the advice

  • make sure its legal to have it imported where ever you live, some countries/provinces made it illegal to have them imported, exported, bought, sold, concealed, and to have possesion of them

  • TIGHT KNIFE

  • they cost alot
