Travis Orbin - Second I Am King Session - "Monsters"

Although technically the third IAK session -- as explained in the video description for "Fortune In Your Failure" -- the files from that second session are forever corrupt, so I had to come back and re-track the two new tunes from said session (this took place in early last October).

My role here was a bit more integral; I took greater liberties with the parts and even manipulated the rhythms in the breakdowns (however, that was at the request of Taylor to make 'em more 'techy' heh).

This video marks the debut of my Pearl Reference Pure kit. The snare is Taylor's old Pearl brass Sensitone - I used it on a bunch of stuff before he got his Ludwig, including the first Andy Gruhin session videos. The cymbal setup is my usual, although the crashes are ICON mediums and the splash is an 8" BRT.

Ah yes, and just so I don't get any crap for this, I see Taylor added a couple of kicks around 1:06 post-tracking. I'm not sure why, but whatever!

Finally, I apologize for the annoying music stand obscuring my hands but this was the best angle I could obtain. Taylor changed the arrangement of his tracking room; I'll try harder next time.

do they still slip edit your drums into place? are you guys using sample replacement for the kick and snare or is that your tone? it sounds good none the less. keep it up!

Another masterpiece!! It took me awhile to realize there was a splash in your set up...just not used to seeing one in your kit. Also dig the camera placement on this one.
