Los Posadas - Santa Rosa de Lima 2009

La piñata simboliza la ataccion del pecado. El palo simboliza la gracia de Jesucristo que rompe por fin el poder del pecado. Cuando se rompe la piñata, derrama regalos de dulces y frutos, los cuales nos alegran.

The piñata was used by Franciscan missionaries to what is now Mexico as a prelude to the Navity of the Lord. Made either out of clay or paper, the piñata represents the attractiveness of sin. The stick or palo that is used to break it open, represents the power of the Lord Jesus over sin. When the attraction to sin is broken by Christ, we receive a deep joy, as sweet as the candies and fruit that burst forth from the broken piñata.

Ven Señor Jesus, ven!
