Is it a system or a collection of techniques? Most instructors look at individual situations and provide specific solutions without any thought to how their method fits into an individuals training. This would be like trying to create a language without any real grammar structure. You can't expect to recall random muscle movements under stress. Instead you must train one set of movements and adapt it to a wide variety of situations. www.theselfdefenseco.com

  • I love your system. I think it is awesome. At the same time, I still love my "collection of techniques" as well! I want both! :)

  • looks like a big waste of energy. And that gun deal is ridiculous. . Look at American Kenpo I have studied martial arts since I was 6 and I am now 43 years old. I use wht I knw in real life. I watched your video off the website and lots of things are being pulled that's not a way to practice real life situations. You need to Strike for real and a person needs to know where to strike to take the person down just not 5 of the same chop in the same place hoping that it will stop the attacker.

  • @lear786 You don't let him shoot you how about that. You attack before they can pull a trigger, and if they're not within striking range I'd try running. That's a pretty good defense against people with guns I find.

  • shoot him in the leg. how do u defend that.?

  • @tagg1080 Oh, I just saw your videos...that explains it.

  • @tagg1080 No problem, but if that were true than everybody who worked really hard at something would be successful at some point, correct? What happens is that eventually you'll come to the same conclusions and observations. We'll see you then.

  • @angelajudochop Then I am just going to have to politely disagree and leave you with my belief that we can make anything effective if we put enough effort into it.

  • @tagg1080 Who the hell am I to tell you what to do with your time? If it's a hobby, but when the rubber hits the road there are only a few things you will be capable of doing.

Listen, I spent years studying martial arts and I have enjoyed them all (for the most part) but when it comes to actual self defense, there can be only simple, gross motor movement techniques.

Look at old school traditional karate, Kyokushin is a great example of this. Handful of brutal techniques.

  • @angelajudochop How is it purely for ego ? I am curious.

If I wish to spend time learning 'complex' things that are not effective in combat, but give me a greater understanding of motion and combat as a whole, should I not learn them?

So as far as I can tell, you are saying to have a small set of techniques, and never learn anything else?

So if you are training for 20 years, then you still only do those 2-3 things?

I just would like to hope there is more to combat than just that.

  • @tagg1080 Short term...long term???? What matters is if it works.
