Crazy windmills

In the middle of nowhere in the Southern California desert are thousands of windmills providing electricity to surrounding cities. It's a magnificant sight against the beautiful mountains.

My wind Turbines Produce Kilowatts, not harmful by-products, and although they may be a little noisy and don't work when there is no wind. I am proud of the work I do and the company "Enertech" I work for who puts them up. I am the Electrician I wire them. I know that if we put enough turbines up we can make a difference in Energy Costs and power shortages, unfortunately since most turbines are induction motors they require an outside power source to run :-( they give us volts we give them AMPS

I love Wind Turbines. I work for Enertech Wind in Kansas. I wire the Electrical Boxes for them.. All different types and all different styles sizes and brand names.. usually we put them up for individual owners.. not usually wind farms, but there are a lot of neat windfarms in Kansas and they are planning on putting up even more.. Spearville, and close by Dodge City, Sublette KS and Walsh Colorado.. Also Springfield CO have bought from us.. oh and Cloud County CC but that one isn't ready yet!

$300K each? About £170K. At current KWH prices it makes ya £48/hr.

Basically it would pay for itself in a year only turning for 12hrs a day on avg.

Then every year after that make you 200k for sitting on your arse.

So if you are ever faced with the purchase option of buying a 200k flat to rent or buying a wind turbine. Pick the wind turbine.....

I don't know where you are from, but here in the US there was a TAX credit for putting up a wind turbine. Most of our customers get a loan and have up put up the turbine, then are reimbursed on the loan by the GOVT, Not certain exactly all of the details, but if I had some land and some credit, I would be looking into it!

"Take taxpayers for a ride." Yes I'm sure the government are deliberately scrabbling for new ways to waste money whilst ensuring the demise of our country and pissing us off. That makes perfect sense.

We've got uranium left for 1 more generation of nuclear plants. When that runs out, then what?
And frankly I'd rather a slighty eyesore now than the same scenery being underwater for my kids in 100 years.

Yes... they are taking us for a ride. and as far as the scenery being underwater... HAHAHAHAHA. If the world is warming, or cooling, or whatever you nutcases are crying that it is doing today, it would be doing it whether or not we were even here. I guess our power plants killed the dinosaurs, or got rid of the last ice age. get your head out of your ass.

We lived here first. These bastards that come and strip our forests down on our taxpayer dime aren't from around here. Funny how the party 'green' didn't want them around their homes (i.e. Kennedy). Damn hypocrits.

no they don't, but to get the same amount of power from those windmills in comparison to just one small coal fired plant, you need acres upon acres upon acres. And during periods where there is no wind, it's a funny thing... coal still burns. We have actual solutions to these problems, but the wind companies are proving no different than any other power company we have now. they are gettin politicians in their pocket, and the real solutions are off limits.
