Real bhakti is Devotional service to Krishna according to the vedas.

Indian saints, sages and Rishis realised almost 7000 years ago the importance of interdependence among living & non-living things for a healthier and safer life on earth. To preserve that link they had to protect those in danger of extinction and raised them to the level of divinity. And thanks to that practice lots of them have ben preserved to this day. The 330 million Gods then represented the living entities as conceived by saints and seers.

people do need to feel complete by a higher believe of more than what we know, no matter what the teachings are they all spell out the same message (love peace harmony) thats how god wanted it, if there was just one religion it would never work a whole planet prayer to the one. its like eating corn every day of your life for all or listen to the same song everyday for all. in this multicultural society we live in today we need each other and we need to respect and embrace each other with peace.

i would just like to point out that we as christians dont use images of saints. that is Catholicism. But yes we do have an image of Jesus and I like how you said we are careful with it because we are, we are careful to not worship the image of Jesus,we just worship Him not his image.
