Marcolosch. If she really wants to do this why shouldn't she be allowed? I personally know this girl. i was in her class for a while and i know for a fact that she wanted to and loved running more than anything.

First, you're most likely not an athlete. Second, your probabally a Conservative.
Third, this young lady was already and accomplished athlete before the 50 miler.
Fourth, I'm a triathlete and marathoner, and every race I see prodigious young people doing great in the races.
In the way that some young people are ready for college at 13, she's ready for an ultramarathon at 13.

What does being conservative have anything to do with it? Besides, I agree with him completely, mostly 'cause I'm jealous. :-P

Conservatives think they know what's best for everybody else and their children. Consider Bill O'reilly. (Truthfully, my proir comment was a bit of a tirade; I really don't know if he/she is a conservative at all : )

I was going to think of a counter example to prove you wrong, but I can't do it so you win this one.

On a completely unrelated note, what was the hardest part about your first marathon? I'm running my first one in March, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations for planning to run your first marathon. The marathon, as they say, starts at mile 20. The last six miles can be tough. So, make sure to prepare yourself by sticking to your training schedule and doing ALL of your long-runs -- the longest of which should be between 22 and 26 miles. March 1st is 13 weeks away, and a good marathon schedule can last any where from 12 - 16 weeks. Good luck! Enjoy it! and watch out for those Conservatives : )

@LittleMegha uuum that's quite the generalization. All African Americans do drugs and hold firearms. Consider Snoop Dogg.
