The official Oscar partying began Monday as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences held its annual nominees luncheon in Beverly Hills and took the official "class photo"!

Held each year at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the annual luncheons are a must-attend ritual, where nominees are wined and dined and also gather for the group pic: Sandra Bullock was seen chatting up Jeff Bridges; Maggie Gyllenhaal was sandwiched between Vera Farmiga and Carey Mulligan; George Clooney was next to 'Avatar' director James Cameron, with Meryl Streep to his front; and 'Up in the Air' director Jason Reitman was next to his dad Ivan Reitman.

The nominees all had an opportunity to relax and enjoy each other's company in a non-competitive setting before the big night on March 7.

Gabourey Sidibe said that the one person she most wanted to meet Monday was Oscar co-host Steve Martin, because, "My mom has a crush on Steve Martin, and we used to watch 'The Jerk' pretty much every day, and so I'm really excited that this show will be hosted by Jack Donaghy ["30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin] and The Jerk -- it's going to be awesome."

'Up in the Air' star Farmiga offered up some helpful advice for would-be flyers: "Slip-ons, not lace-ups," are important when it comes to shoes, and, "Look out for families with babies and strollers."

Gyllenhaal shared some Oscar madness advice from brother Jake, who was nominated in 2006 for 'Brokeback Mountain,' saying, "He said it's a lot of fun, and enjoy it in that spirit, and if you make it mean too much more than that, you'll probably go astray."

And Gyllenhaal's 'Crazy Heart' co-star Bridges said he's got the music bug after playing a musician in 'Crazy Heart': "I'm primed up to do some more music, so I'm hoping that's in the cards."

ET's own Leonard Maltin was the only broadcast journalist allowed inside; come back to ETonline Tuesday for his exclusive one-on-ones with the nominees!

  • first of all Meryl is NOT fat she is wonderful that's just the dress when you look at her at the golden globes or at the oscars you see it

  • that wonderfulspaniard1 guy is DUMB . they do that on like anything involving meryl saying she's fat . i'd like to see how he looks .

  • @wonderfulspaniard1 I wish I could just ignore what you said but I don't! Meryl Streep had 4 children, dared to eat (not like those skinny actresses who think they look petty that way) , and had the best hollywood career ever! She doesn't deserve what you said, she's the most adorable and gifted celebrity on earth.. that's all.

  • @wonderfulspaniard1 And No One Cares If She Is , Shes A Legend! Everyone Grows Old You Know :L !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @wonderfulspaniard1 Or What You Gonaa Do Hard Knock !?

  • Boycott!

Camermoron, is a complete jack ass... if he cared about people he'd sale his $100 million home and help the poor or perhaps cut back on his $10,000 bottles of champagne and use the money to a half million people whom are starving to death. this just shows the arogance of the hollywood hipocrits. I am currently organizing a boycott of this jackass' movies.

  • Yeah I Understand Where Your COming From

Guess People Will Just Have To Get Over The Fact She Looks The Way She Does =\

No One Is Perfect But Yeah She Should Do Something About It =\

  • I respect people, I like he too, she is funny. But she is obese, no one should be encouraged to look like that! She needs help.

  • Yeaahh I Respect Your Opinion But Its The Way She Is And You Gota Accept That ! She Should Be Aloud Out ! -_-

Does It Really Matter If She Is Unfit ?

Show You Dont Have To Be Super Thin To Be An Actress !

    Theres Nothing Wrong With Her

I Like Her She Seems Very Nice In All Her Interviews :)

I Dont Care If She Is A Big Woman Her Being Big Doesnt Make Me Not Like Her =\

  • People like her should not be allowed out. Un fit, un healthy, not a very good role model I'm affraid. Good on her but lose the fat!
