What is this bullshit. I´m COVERED in freckles, they're everywhere and I never tan. Yet that there are people whining that they have a few on their back because of excessive tanning.

@cosmoskincare freckles can be red, people have two types of melanins, one melanin produces red melanin (phaeomelanin) while the other brown melanin (eumelanin). What are you talking about freckles are not red, redheads/pale skin sometimes get the red freckles. I thought you all were skin care proffesionals, I'm 15 how do you not know this. Sorry if this sounds rude, but if your proffesionals you should know that.
I have lots of freckles on my back due to mainly a few major sunburns when I was younger. Whilst I do get freckles I can tan with effort. Just wanted to know, if I got my back freckles removed, and attempted to tan my back afterwards (very carefully of course, with sunscreen and without burning) would the SAME freckles reappear if I did happen to get sunburnt?

Hi @Schredder222! Once treated, the pigment from your current freckles would be gone, and never come back. However, that being said-- having your current freckles removed will not prevent brand-new ones from forming-- the only to prevent more freckles is to avoid future sun damage.
If you really want to be tan without incurring any sun damage, your only option is sunless tanning.
Thanks for the question!

Hi, is BBL treatment permanent?? & will the exposure to the sun sabotage the results??
ICeeICeBerG 1 year ago 2
@ICeeICeBerG Great question! BBL can only treat sun damage that is currently present, as the laser is attracted to the spots of pigmentation. Future, unprotected exposure to the sun can definitely cause additional brown spots and sun damage to manifest, but after going through this treatment the majority of patients become very devoted to practicing good skin health, and always make sure to apply sunscreen.

@52rjohnson Hi! BBL is attracted to any pigment in the skin, so it could work for your freckles... however, freckles are not red? In order to know for sure what the best treatment options would be for you if this is something that really bothers you, you should really have an expert examine your skin. Do you live in the Philadelphia area?
