No, it is possible with those little ones too. I am using my wind-noise-reduction-system with my little pocket camera (Canon A3100 IS). It got a bult-in mic behind a 1mm hole, about 1 cm left of the lens.
I put some tape with a hole on the hole (to protect the camera), glue half of a tiny foam ball on top of it and finally some fur.
The cheapest way is simply to glue a 1 mm slice of cigarette filter tip on the hole!
But the bigger the foam and the longer the fur the better...

I love helicopters, not the reason most of them are used for (air ambulance) my favorite model is a Bell407.

Hi Allen,
you should add some rubber foam on top of your mike to reduce the wind-noise and put some long haired fur in front of both and you don't here any wind up to 50 mph.
It is so easy - as you can see in my "wind-noise" test videos.
Best wishes,

@HannoFalk This was shot with the Flip cam, it has a built-in mic, no place for a wind sock. When I shoot serious video I use my EOS 7D with a RØDE video mic fitted with a "dead cat" wind sock.
