  • My female laid 2 Eggs on 9-30-11 and its not my first batch of eggs.....this past july she laid 2 and they hatched in the aquarium under the water bowl.....now 2 sets of eggs later, Im incubating them now- first time- the temperature is( 74 / humidity is 91) is that ok?

  • @kyuubimon Sounds all right. Don't know what you're incubating them in though.

  • @stolenmilkcrate both are in real DELI cups,1lb container with lid. i work for Harris Teeter here in charlotte NC, Vermiculite fine/coarse mix. then placed inside a foam cooler.....will that work? cant remember if it was you or someone on youtube said to "candle" the eggs around 2 weeks, in a video i say last week!

  • @kyuubimon Small incubation containers like deli cups are not the best, as they don't regulate heat/humidity well, like larger containers might. It might be OK inside a cooler but it's not how I incubate, so I can't tell you if that will work.

  • hello, I was hoping you could give me info on moldy eggs. I had an infertile egg that molded over. it was in the same incubator as two healthy eggs. I pitched the rotton egg. but 2 weeks later the other two molded over. they were 80 days old. I wiped off the mold, and crossed my fingers. The next day they molded again. they never caved in. I would like to cut it open just to see what stage it was at before it died. Is it safe to say its definately dead?

  • @67kche I don't really like to say there's a time when I could call something "definite." I don't recommend cutting eggs, and if you didn't have molding until late, I would consider taking a look at your temps and humidity to make sure there have been no big changes.

  • It could be mold, maybe. First-timer eggs can often be duds, yes

  • hey with my current cluth im noticing patches of the egg of a very pale gray, is this mold or are they developing? i heard the first time a crested female has eggs they are usually duds is this true?

  • I don't throw anything away until I'm 100% sure they're duds - I did have a moldy egg last year and wiped the mold and it hatched fine.

  • what if you left them removing the mold and they hatched
