This video contains 5 frames of a supposed UFO travelling extremely fast over Sydney. The last frame is quite clear, and you can even make out some structure on the 'craft.' Most interesting is that the entry of the craft leaves a visible trace in the sky which could either be a hole in the clouds, or...an interdimensional portal (wormhole).
The content within the video is legitimate and was obtained through my place of employment (which I prefer not to directly name, but is easily found within the links below). I work within the photographics department of Australia's largest newspaper group, and I also edit about 95% of the online video content across all community titles.
This video was taken by a newspaper photographer documenting the Surry Hills Festival in Sydney - he was there to take still photos primarily and then to get a few video clips for a brief feature to go along with the online story. I edited the final video and didn't notice the object in the sky originally (I was on deadline, and it was quite frankly a bad video so I threw it together in about 5 minutes). I have unfortunately deleted the original raw clip and only now have the compressed final version.
I noticed this object in the video on Friday September 4, 2009 while archiving and transferring some past projects from my hard-drive to a network drive. I was basically double-clicking each file, ascertaining which newspaper it was for, and then dragging it to a particular folder. The object caught my eye because it appears right at the beginning of the video.
The original clip was captured with a Canon PowerShot TX1 and was set on 640x480 at 30fps. The object is visible for 5 frames, that's 1/6 second or 0.166666667 seconds of vision.
The 5th and final frame featuring the object reveals a hint of structure which I consider to be intriguing. Even more interesting is the fact that the place where the object appeared in the sky remains visible for the entire five frames and then the following four frames after the object has moved on.
As far as I know, no one noticed it or reported anything. Here's my analysis of the video. This Youtube clip is 3rd generation quality - for the best results, watch full-screen HQ.
And here is the original file. It's 31MB, and the object appears within the first 2 seconds (actually at the 42nd frame). I'm posting the full-length as even chopping the end off could reduce the quality of the entire thing - feel free to do your own analysis once you've downloaded it.
The full original clip can be viewed here:

So what is it? I don't think it's a bird or a bug given its shape and speed, and that it appears from a point in the sky that remains fixed in the sky over the duration of 9 frames.
I doubt that it was an object thrown by someone at the festival due to not only the 'point of origin' anomaly,' but the fact that it travels curving laterally and takes only 1/6 of a second to move out of frame.
Lastly, I doubt that it's an equipment error or 'CCD overload' considering that (1) no other video from this camera has ever displayed this anomaly, (2) no bright light sources are within frame (Sun, reflection, etc), (3) the object's motion is disproportionate to the motion of the camera, and most importantly (4) the light hitting the object fits the rest of the scene and places the object outside of the camera and at a distance.
So any ideas as to what this is?

Yeah, unfortunately I can't change the video now. At least it's spelled right everywhere else.

This is a re-upload with a little more info. I'll post a video response shortly comparing the object in this video to a bug.
