@jin12345678 - No, in order for him to play like that, the frog must be detached from the bow and held in the fingers of the bow-hand. He simply lets go of the frog at the end to release the bow from the violin.

This is awesome, but I would be so afraid of damaging my bow I'm not sure I could do it.

Me either-if I could do it, it would be with a cheap bow to be on the safe side, like Ian Cooper uses in his video of a similar piece. Quite terrific playing also, I would say.

Great! Do you have any further informations about this piece? Especially if there is any sheet music of it? We had a russian concertmaster who used to play this, but he didn´t even know the title - which btw doesn´t give any result when you google....

Unfortunately, I don't have any more info on he piece or any sheet music. BTW, if it's ok to ask, who is the Concertmaster you mentioned?

His name is Alexander Labko - there are recordings of the Medtner-Sonatas on youtube...
