A group of us took at tour of Parris Island, SC where they make Marines. It was organized for depot spouses and authorized patrons only. I am one of the lucky retired Marines that got to go on it. It was a very interesting tour which took us to the famous "Yellow Footprints, Receiving Barracks, a recruit squad bay, confidence course, The Crucible, and the chow hall for lunch. It was a great time and very informative. I have 14 videos of it to post. I hope you enjoy them.

  • are they calling him drill Sergeant?

  • This... Made me a little mad because, they really didn't seem to take it seriously or care, but like someone else said, they get to leave at the end of the day lol.

I still have PT gear that sells like the island. A place like no other. Semper Fidelis!

  • A huge surge of adrenaline pumps through every US Marine when they view this. It has to. Every viewer who ever earned the EGA is awash with memories of his own MCRD experience right now. No way anyone can ever forget it. It's a very personal change, but one which forges you into a life-long brotherhood. There is no other basic trng in the world like USMC bootcamp. It makes us different. Some other services' units have Esprit, but EVERY Marine inherits it forever. I almost locked my heels!

  • "It smells like my husband!" LoL!! Yes dear, PISC has it's own smell, and bootcamp squad bays do, too. Altho this is probably great for PubRela and helps dependents undrstnd *A LITTLE* of what their recruit endured to become a Marine, I almost object to this. What we suffered at MCRD was a sacred rite of passage, horrible and almost secret. There's no way to explain to those who haven't done it, so no use trying. The retired Marine who filmed this surely understands what I mean. Sacred, somehow.

  • This ROCKS ! No matter how long it's been ... you can still smell the memory of those first days.

  • @NicholasWeiner cause they no its fake and they know the get to go home at the end of the day

  • i wouldn't be able to scream. lol.

  • @nckrider1 And its the Marine Corps* :)

  • I really don't get what's so funny? If he said act like a recruit they shouldn't be laughing or anything of that nature. I'm just saying.

  • @rebelcriminal you just said an army quote ..... marine core ir oorah!
