Upgrades: I skinned the fuse in WBPU and tissue for strength, then another skin of solarfilm. Made the tail surface out of balsa skinned with WBPU and solarfilm and added anhedral and turned it into full control surface - hiding the control rods inside the fuse. Added a rudder to to the vertical fin -all hidden within the tail assembly. Made balsa ailerons and hid the control rods etc inside the fuse. Replaced the black canopy with a SAPAC composite Hawk clear canopy and added det cord lines and trim. Painted the red air scoops on the turtle deck white. Made a fibreglass nose cone from a plug of the original dinged up plastic one. Sanded out the fan area to fit a 69mm fan running a 2W20 on 4S. Decorated the Hawk in custom made decals set of the T-45.
I crashed 3 times on maiden before getting to where it is now. Long story but all available to read on rcgroups in the foamie jets forum. :-)
It's doing around 90mph on the runs in this video.
I have a HET 2W20 and 69mm EDF unit installed. I had to sand it out a bit to get it in there. I am running a 4S 2650 Turnigy Lipo, 3A UBEC, 80A Turnigy ESC. 9g servo's all around. I converted the tail to full surface control and hid the wires iside the fuse. Same as the ailerons. I skinned the fuse in WBPU and tissue and then solarfilm. The canopy is a composite Hawk version. I made a fiberglass nose cone. It needs it!
