It's easy for American Christians to forget how Jesus said his followers would actually live, what their new lifestyle would actually look like. They would, he said, leave behind security, money, convenience, even family for him. They would abandon everything for the gospel. They would take up their crosses daily...

In Radical, David Platt challenges you to consider with an open heart how we have manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences. He shows what Jesus actually said about being his disciple--then invites you to believe and obey what you have heard. And he tells the dramatic story of what is happening as a "successful" suburban church decides to get serious about
the gospel according to Jesus.

  • I WANT TO SAVE THE WORLD, I WANT ALL MY FRIENDS TO KNOW GOD..WHAT HE DID FOR ME, HOW HE SHOWED ME HIS HEART

    THAT IS MY MISSION

  • Great post. Most christians today have done just this, catered the word of God and his DEMANDS(not requests) to fit our ideal lives. We will serve Christ, go to church, tell others about him, and not commit sexual sins when its convenient. The fact of the matter is we will all have to stand before God one day and give an account of our lives. He is going to ask us why we didn't do more and saying I had to work or I had too much to do is not an excuse he will accept.

  • I like the part where it talks about What Part of the Gospel Is Optional

  • @ndzoko silly you. that's why it's called faith. Being able to believe in something without seeing the manifestation of it at present. But rest assured, "Every knee will bow and tongue confess to God." (Romans 14:11)

  • @ndzoko God's real and if you're not afraid you don't know the real God and you don't know yourself

  • @ndzoko As you do.

  • @ruhhshelle The salvation story is plain fantasy. No evidence whatsoever. Believe what you want.

  • Not to say that as american christians we have it all together by any means, but this video makes it sound like God is an angry, vengeful God that says "be my slave or die". Where does it talk about his love and compassion, that he wants us to be so radically in love with HIM, that we say "Jesus, I will give up everything I have, not just because you tell me to, but because I'll do whatever it takes to have a better relationship with you"? He wants our heart in the right place, not our actions.

  • Wish this could be applied to the UK too. Loved the last quote - 'Church, we are plan A, and there is no plan B' - I'm putting that on my desktop to remind me.
