  • Cage is still alive. I saw him with Nelson and the boys a couple years ago. John Dawson is still alive also. He's not in the band because of "ailing health." Dave Torbert, the original bassist, died in 1982. The two guys I saw filling in for their respective spots did a fine job on both vocals and playing. Being a youngun myself, I was not around to see them in the 70s. My dad did though, and he will say to this day that the times he saw them, then and now, were the best shows he's ever been to.

  • I spoke with Buddy Cage and David Nelson in December at the show posted above, and both are alive and well. Michael, the rhythm guitarist, plays with Hot Tuna as well.

  • Im15 and one of their records

  • Sound man... Turn up the steel guitar!

  • Best weed song ever!

  • @ronsadaka I also went to that lake Worth show over on J street. Not the same band without Marmaduke. I miss doing shots with Him at The Musicians Exchange in the early 90s before several shows.

  • Saw this NRPS lineup in NJ in 2005 and again in Lake Worth, FL in 2007. Voices are mostly shot and Buddy has had chronic tuning problems with his custom steels but musically these guys still JAM!!!

  • Sadly, McDuke died almost exactly a year ago.

There is a real shortage of true NRPS videos with the lineups from the 1970's, on YouTube.

    He is missed.

  • @knockavaddera I saw them in 1971, but can't remember where for obvious reasons ;-) Garcia was in rare form! I DO remember that! Sure miss the old days sometimes.

  • Narrer neck jar n' a washin bo'wd be alrahht heah huh paw ! Love the composition & reminds me sooo much of what I've seen of the Cajun Shufftle. Not meaning to offend anyone & maybe I have which is not my intention. This style bangs me gong - truly. May have geography & areas wrong for the styles of music in the States.

  • I was replying to stoned123456 about old man knoll. That was on Brujo. Henry was on the first LP with Jerry Garcia vice Buddy Cage on pedal steel.

  • this song is not from brujo it from first album n.r.p.s.
