A relatively forgotten film by Wes Craven, "Deadly Friend" has an excellent and highly evocative title theme penned by NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET composer Charles Bernstein, represented here in three score cuts ("Main Title", "Paul and Samantha" and "End Credits"). Enjoy!
i love this film...

I think the sound-track really added something special to the movie, it accompanies the emotionals scenes between Paul & Sam perfectly. The finale is superb when the human Sam begins to emerge before she is killed the music fits like a glove.

Almost sounds too much like an upgrade of Cujo.

One of the top most beautiful scores I've ever heard. Charles Bernstein. Just wow. I love this movie too. I have it in my collection. Always been a favorite since childhood.

There's so many unreleased scores from that era. But there's hope since Intrada, LaLaL and other indies are doing a great job. I still wait for Les Baxter's The Beast Within, Bo Harwood & Lance Rubin's Happy Birthday To Me, among maaany others. This Bernstein score sure is a great one from those days, too.

It's an excellent score, it takes me straight back to 1986. I own the original LP, the re-release on Peservance records is quite different.
