I fired one hollowpoint my my Springfield XD-9 into the long end of this watermelon. The entire bottom was blown off.

  • Shooting melons is fun. Be great if you mentioned anything informative, such as what brand, bullet weight, and load.

  • Hollow points have no reliable history of expanding on even a human target. It is easy to see why we are trying to take something as soft as human tissue or water melon to bend something as hard as copper coated lead. It is not logical to believe it would. Not with the slow speeds of a hand gun.

  • answer is..cheat ass ammo.

  • is the round soft enough to flatten itself upon hitting something as soft as a watermelon? if so, thats all I'm buying from here on out.
