  • murda he seas

  • @18valval But this song is from '43... I'm also glad that you enjoy this beautiful genre of art... I love it as well

  • @hablerz That show ran from '52-'54. Not quite the time period when I think this song came out. I guess it's close enough though.

Still, What kind of boyfriend would ever yell out something like "Murder" after kissing his girlfriend?! He sounds like the dumbest and socially the worst boyfriend possible.

  • @Influx27 Ive heard it said on the Abbott and Costello show when someone is surprised or taken aback etc. Took me a while to figure what the song was on about but im pretty sure thats its meaning as shes talking about the words he uses throughout.

  • @hablerz you think so? I'm not so sure, but then again slang can be kinda hard to backtrace.

  • @Influx27 It was 1940s slang i think.

  • why oh why would any guy say "Murder" after kissing his girlfriend?

  • @18valval Only thing is, this is not a '50s song. Betty Hutton introduced "Murder He Says" (a song custom crafted to match her explosive style) in the 1943 film "Happy Go Lucky." Inexplicably, Betty's version did not become a hit. Instead, it was this much more low-key, honey-toned rendition (Victor 1525) that climbed the charts to #4 over an eleven week run starting April 10, 1943,

  • Life must have been so much simpler back than. sigh...

  • @18valval what about the draft, it would not be a good time to live
