@mathesar73 its called auto brightness limiter it is on all 2011 and im assuming 2012 models...to meet enery efficient standards ...but i dont care it is to annoying they should give the option to turn it off...tvs never did that before and they worked great
-
@SanAnger dont be bothered by it.. most people are not perceptive enough to catch it with their eyes that is why you look like the crazy one but to us where things stick out like a slap in the face i get mad when people cannot notice fluctuations in the picture.lol i hope a firmware update comes where you can turn off the auto brightness limiter or have a service tech come and turn it off in service menu i dont care about energy efficient green garbage..i want my tv to work normal

i just bought that same bluray and i can assure you it's just the way the movie is
if you press pause during that scene you can see no flicker until it appears again so it's coded into the video itself and it's not caused by the tv

i think i am having the same problem. it looks like there is a light in the foreground of the display that makes the whole image slightly brighter, and flickering constantly. did you ever find out what this is?

I am on my second Panny 50" plasma. Had the first less than 3 days when I had it swapped, then the second for 10 mins when I went back to the shop...will have it swapped for another brand...any suggestions? heard bad things about Samsung...apparently a lot of returns on them...PLEASE advice

Finally found someone who agrees with me on this. Seemed like nobody else noticed and looked at me like I am crazy seeing fickers.
A few weeks ago decided to buy a Pioneer Kuro (one of the few left). What a great machine. I would recommend this to anyone. It is quite expensive but the PQ is amazing. Only thing I noticed is that it has quite some PWM noise. But I guess no TV is perfect.

I know. Bothers the crap outta me. Just sold mine and bought 50" Sammy. Most Pannys don't handle 24p that well. Deep blacks are cool but that flickering can really spoil the blu-ray experience. Makes great transfers look mediocre at times.

Again a damn flickering Pana. Why does everybody only talk about the PQ while every Pana flickers like a bitch
-
Jeez, talk about anal retentive.

whts wrong? tv's great just bought 1
That is from the camera. The flicker occurs (at least what you can see on youtube) at a number of different times. 58sec, 109, are the most apparent. The wall and faces are where you can see it. In person it is very noticeable
