Thank you so much. There was the wire attached to the switch and you were to only one that addressed what to do with it. I now installed a light timmer. Before watching your video I packed everything up and was about to return it to the store. You no nonsense approach is very appreciated.

the diimmer is for diming the lights this switch turns the light attached to the dimmer on and off the dimmer just dims.
